Yankton Bucks Baseball will host Brookings tomorrow and Saturday in a best-of-three “Super Regional” series, with the winner advancing to the state tournament.
Yankton was 3 and 1 against Brookings in the regular season. The teams split their doubleheader in Yankton on April 5th, with the Bucks taking game one 6 to 1, while Brookings won game two 1 to 0.
The two teams met again on April 12th in Brookings. Yankton won both games, 10 to 5 and 7 to 4, to sweep the second doubleheader
Yankton enters the “Super Regionals” as the #6 seed with a 17 and 5 Class A record. Brookings is the #11 seed at 11 and 17.
First pitch of game one is scheduled for 6:00 PM tomorrow night at Riverside Field. Pregame coverage on KYNT and KYNTV begins at 5:15. Bryce Ladwig and Brayden Butler will be on the call.

Yankton Gazelles Golf travels to Mitchell tomorrow morning for an invitational at Lake View Golf Course.
Tomorrow will be the second trip to Mitchell this week after falling in the Marchand Cup on Tuesday.
Tee time is set for 10:30 AM tomorrow.
Yankton Track and Field travels to Harrisburg on Saturday for the ESD Conference Meet.
The ESD Conference Meet will be the penultimate chance for Bucks and Gazelles athletes to qualify for the Class AA State Tournament, May 29th through the 31st in Sioux Falls.
Saturday’s action begins with field events at 10:00 AM. Running events are scheduled to begin at noon. The meet will be held at Harrisburg High School.
The Bloomfield Bees claimed the District D-4 Track and Field boys’ team championship yesterday in Plainview.
Bloomfield scored 105 points en route to the win, including 103 in track events. Jacob Smith and Evan Hollander finished 1st and 2nd in the boys’ 400, with Hayden Loseke winning the boys’ 100 and 200-meter dashes.
Smith also took first in the 800, while Hollander and Loseke were joined by Beau Eisenhauer and Blake Hochstein to win the 400-meter relay.
The Nebraska High School Track and Field State Tournament will be held May 23rd and 24th at Burke High School in Omaha.
Hartington-Newcastle Track and Field took home the District D-3 boys’ championship at yesterday’s meet in Humphrey.
The Wildcats scored 112 points as a team. Cole Rosener had a hand in three of four event wins for the Wildcats. Rosener won the 400-meter and the long jump.
He also anchored the 1st place 400-meter relay team, joined by William Feilmeier, Maximus McCray, and Mason Krause. Feilmeier picked up another win in the 100-meter dash.
The top-2 finishers in each individual event and the winning relay teams qualified for the Nebraska High School Track and Field State Tournament.
