Yankton Bucks Tennis is 3rd in the ESD Conference Meet after day one of the competition in Watertown.
Yesterday’s action included play-in and quarterfinal matches in singles and doubles. Yankton has 120 points as a team. 1st place Harrisburg has 150.
All three of Yankton’s duos advanced to the conference semifinals. In singles play, Zachary Briggs, Harrison Krajewski, Ethan Marsh, and Patrick Kralicek went undefeated on day one, earning singles wins as well.
The ESD Conference Meet will conclude today. Action begins at 8:00 AM this morning.
Yankton Bucks Baseball will host Brookings in a best of three series this Friday and Saturday, with the winner advancing to the Class A State Tournament.
Yankton won three of their four games against Brookings in the regular season. Yankton outscored Brookings 23-11 over the four games.
Game one will take place on Friday at 6:00 PM. Game two will be Saturday at 5:00, with game three, if necessary, to follow. All games will be held at Riverside Field in Yankton.
Mount Marty University finished 10th in the GPAC All-Sports Rankings for 2024-25, the league announced yesterday.
MMU placed 7th in the men’s rankings and 11th in the women’s rankings. Dordt and Concordia shared the top 2 spots overall. Concordia claimed men’s honors, with Dordt taking 1st both on the women’s side and overall.
Yankton Gazelles Softball returns home this evening to host Beresford at Sertoma Park.
Yankton is currently 13th in Class AA with a 5-11 record. Beresford is 7th in Class A at 10-8.
First pitch is scheduled for 6:00 PM this evening.
Yankton Gazelles Golf travels to Mitchell today to take on the Kernels in their annual Marchand Cup.
Today’s action will be held at Lake View Golf Course. Tee time is scheduled for 2:00 PM.
