Jason Jones has been sentenced to death in a quadruple homicide that occurred in Laurel, Nebraska in August of 2022.
On August 4th, 2022, Jones shot and killed Gene Twiford, Janet Twiford, Dana Twiford, and Michelle Ebeling.
Prosecuting Attorney, Corey O’Brien, says the verdict was justice for the families impacted by Jonses’ actions.
Defense Attorney, Todd Lancaster, says there will be an automatic appeal to the Supreme Court.
Michele Ebeling’s daughter, Richele, says while the sentencing marks an important step in the justice system, it doesn’t bring back the lives that were taken.
Gail Curry, Gene and Janet’s daughter, and Dana’s sister, says the verdict ends a long and painful chapter for her family.
Jones is one of twelve inmates on death row in Nebraska.
