Mount Marty Baseball picked up their 1,000th win in program history on Friday during their doubleheader against Hastings.
The historic win would come in game two, as the Lancers defeated the Broncos 7-5. Daniel Vonnegut and Tyler Vance both drove in a pair of runs for the Lancers. Lucas Kampshoff threw three innings of relief, taking the win on the mound.
The Lancers fell in the opening game of the doubleheader, 12-8. Vonnegut and Jalen Owens recorded 3 RBIs each.
The Lancers are scheduled to take on Midland tomorrow afternoon in Fremont, Nebraska, after their doubleheader scheduled for Saturday was postponed. First pitch of game one is scheduled for 2:00 PM.
Yankton High School athletics are scheduled to resume activities tomorrow after a break for the Easter Holiday.
Bucks Tennis will host a triangular against Brandon Valley and Sioux Falls Roosevelt. Matches are scheduled to begin at 11:00 AM.
Gazelles Softball will travel to Pierre on Tuesday to take on the Governors, with first pitch scheduled for 4:00 PM.
Bucks and Gazelles Track and Field will compete in a multi-team event at Sioux Falls Lincoln. Field events begin at 2:30 PM with running events scheduled for 4:00 PM.
Mount Marty Softball returns to the field today to host the Midland Warriors in a GPAC doubleheader.
The games were originally scheduled to be held this past week, but were postponed due to inclement weather.
First pitch of game one is set for 3:00 PM, with game two to follow.
Mount Marty Track and Field wrapped up the Friends Invitational in Wichita, Kansas, this past Friday.
Logan Ferrari ended the meet with a victory in the men’s 5000-meter, followed by a 3rd place finish from Joseph Cross. Jonathan Van Lien ended the two-day meet 3rd in the men’s decathlon. MMU’s Kellan Odell and James Deseh took 5th and 6th.
Next up for the Lancers are the Sioux City Relays on April 10th and 11th in Sioux City, Iowa.
Mount Marty Men’s Golf will compete in Newton, Kansas, today at the Bethany College Classic.
The two-day event will be held at Sand Creek Station, with tee time scheduled for 8:30 AM today and tomorrow.
Mount Marty Women’s Golf will travel to Lincoln, Nebraska, tomorrow for the opening round of the Concordia Women’s Spring Invite.
Both days of competition, Tuesday and Wednesday, will be held at Highlands Golf Course, beginning at 9:00 AM.
