Yankton Bucks Hockey advanced to the State Semifinals for the first time in program history yesterday, defeating Oahe 6-3.
The Bucks trailed 3-0 in the second period, but six unanswered goals, including a hat trick for Rylan Murphy, gave Yankton the 6-3 win. Luke Moeller stopped 29 of the 32 shots he faced in net.
Yankton will take on the 7th-seeded Aberdeen Cougars, who upset #2 Sioux Falls East 4-2, tonight at 5:00 PM, with the winner advancing to the state championship. Pregame coverage on KYNT and KYNTV begins at 4:30.
The Mount Marty Lancers have adjusted their weekend baseball series with Concordia, as the four-game stretch will now begin today.
Today’s games will be held at the Sandhills Complex in Lincoln, Nebraska, beginning at 1:00 PM.
Tomorrow’s games will be held at Plum Creek Park in Seward, also beginning at 1:00 PM.
Yankton High School alum Madelyn Eidsness earned first-team All-GPAC honors for competitive dance.
Eidsness, a Sophomore competing for Dordt, was the lone Defender selected for the first team.
South Dakota Coyotes Senior Angelina Robles has been named to the Women’s Basketball College All-Star Game Watch List.
Robles is one of 107 player named to the watch list, and one of two players selected from the Summit League.
The game will feature 20 of the top seniors in the country, and will be held on April 4th. The 20 players selected will be announced the week of the game.
