Logan Ferrari set a new Mount Marty Indoor Track and Field record in the men’s 5,000-meter run on Saturday, finishing 4th in the NAIA National Championships.
Ferrari finished the race with a time of 14:22.21. Ferrari earned NAIA All-American recognition with the 4th place finish.
The Lancers now turn their attention to the outdoor track and field season, beginning on March 27th in Wayne, Nebraska.
Yankton Bucks Basketball had their late rally fall short on Saturday, losing to the Harrisburg Tigers in the SoDak 16 69-59.
Jackson Kudera scored a game-high 27 points in the loss. Owen Eidnsess tallied 13 points for the Bucks, adding 5 steals and 3 assists.
The Bucks end their 2025-26 season with an 8-13 record after starting the season 1-10. Yankton graduates three seniors, Beck Ryken, Owen Eidsness, and Abe O’Brien.
Yankton Gazelles Basketball had their season come to an end on Friday, falling to Rapid City Stevens in the SoDak 16.
Eden Wolfgram ended with a game-high 20 points in the loss. Nora Krajewski and Jordyn Kudera added 8 points each.
The Gazelles end the season with an 8-13 record. Yankton graduates four seniors, Kelsyn Wells, Addi Muth, Nora Krajewski, and Sabrina Krajewski.
Mount Marty Baseball split the final two games of their Florida trip on Saturday against Lawrence Tech.
The Lancers dropped game one in a close 3-2 decision. Kimo Wilinski drove in both MMU runs with a two-run home run in the 3rd inning.
Game two saw the Lancers take a 16-7 victory, scoring 14 runs in the first 3 innings. Tyler Vance and Jalen Owens both drove in three runs each.
The Lancers open GPAC play this weekend, as they are scheduled to face Concordia in a four-game series this Saturday and Sunday.
Mount Marty Competitive Cheer achieved their best ever GPAC finish this past Friday, placing 4th at the GPAC Championships.
The Lancers scored a 78.86 to take 4th place. Northwestern took home the conference championship with an 89.55.
The 4th-place finish marks the first time the Lancers have finished better than 7th at the GPAC championships.
South Dakota Coyotes Men’s Basketball had their season come to an end last Friday with a 76-62 loss to Omaha in the Summit League Quarterfinals.
Vince Buzelis finished with 16 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Coyotes despite the loss.
The Coyotes end their season with a 16-16 overall record, 8-8 in Summit League play.
South Dakota Coyotes Women’s Basketball fell in the Summit League semifinals on Saturday to South Dakota State, 74-59.
Angelina Robles led the Coyotes with 18 points, followed by 17 from Molly Joyce. USD’s Elise Turrubiates (Ter-ruby-ah-tiss) posted a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds.
The Coyotesend the conference slate with a 12-4 league record, and a 23-9 overall record.
South Dakota State Women’s Basketball picked up their 4th straight Summit League Championship on Sunday, defeating North Dakota State 64-51.
Brooklyn Meyer was dominant for the Jackrabbits, leading the Jacks in points (26), rebounds (9), and blocks (4).
With the win, the Jackrabbits guarantee a spot in the NCAA Women’s Basketball National Tournament.
The Bloomfield Bees had their comeback fall short on Saturday, as they were defeated by Howells-Dodge 45-42 in the Class D1 Girls Basketball State Championship.
The Bees gave up a 14-0 run to start the game and were unable to overcome the deficit. Kennedy and Madyson Mlady both finished with double-doubles for the Bees. Kennedy had 25 points and 10 rebounds, while Madyson finished with 15 points and 10 boards.
The Bees end their season as the D1 State Runner-Up. The Bees did not have a senior on their varsity roster.
The Wynot Blue Devils finish the year 2nd in Class D2, falling in the Girls Basketball State Championship to Dundy County Stratton 49-39.
Kenna Oligmueller led Wynot in scoring with 13 points. Kaley Wieseler added 11 points and 8 rebounds.
The Blue Devils end their season with their 14th state championship game appearance since 2005.
