The Yankton Gazelles look to earn a spot in the Class AA Girls Basketball State Tournament tonight, as they take on Rapid City Stevens in the SoDak 16.
The Gazelles are the #13 seed in the class while the Raiders are #4. Stevens defeated Yankton when the two teams met in Yankton, 68-45.
Tip-off from Stevens High School is scheduled for 7:00 PM Central this evening. Pregame coverage on KYNT and KYNTV begins at 6:30 with Brayden Butler.
Yankton Bucks Basketball travels to Harrisburg tomorrow afternoon for a SoDak 16 matchup with the Tigers.
Yankton enters the SoDak as the #13 seed, while Harrisburg is #4. The Bucks dropped their season opener to the Tigers on December 12th, 54-46.

Mount Marty Junior Mya Zohner finished one spot shy of the podium in the women’s pole vault at the NAIA Indoor Track and Field National Championships.
Zohner placed 9th, clearing 11-7 ¾. Paige Clausen took 18th for the Lancers. Also for MMU, Zelie Sorensen, Alexis Even, Whitney Wollberg, and Josey Wahlstrom finished 16th in the prelims of the women’s 1600 relay, and Zavio Prato, Samuel Favaretto, Jet Janvrin, and Bastien Furstoss finished 22nd in the prelims of the men’s 1600 relay.
Competing today for the Lancers will be Zelie Sorensen in the women’s 200 prelims and Josey Wahlstrom in the women’s 600 prelims. Jonathan Van Lien will resume competition in the men’s heptathlon. He sits 12th after day one.
Mount Marty Softball split their two games yesterday afternoon against Ave Maria and Michigan-Dearborn.
Kayleen Jacinto led the Lancers to an 8-4 win over Ave Maria in game one, finishing 3 for 3 at the plate with 2 runs and 2 RBIs.
Game two ended in a 3-0 loss to Michigan-Dearborn. Brooke Richardson led MMU, recording 2 of the Lancers 4 hits.
The Lancers are back in action tomorrow, taking on Saint Francis and Keiser in Viera, Florida.
Mount Marty Baseball resumes play in Melbourne, Florida, today with a doubleheader against Keiser University.
Game one begins at 11:00 AM Central, with game two to follow.
The Bloomfield Bees earned a spot in the Class D1 Girls Basketball State Semifinals yesterday morning with a 73-52 win over Arapahoe.
Madyson and Kennedy Mlady were dominant in the win. Madyson recorded 24 points, 13 rebounds, and 4 steals, while Kennedy finished with 19 points, 10 rebounds, and 3 steals.
The Bees will take on Sutton today in the Semifinals. Tip-off from the Bob Devaney Sports Center is scheduled for 6:00 PM.
The Wynot Blue Devils will take on Red Cloud today in the semifinals of the Class D2 Girls Basketball State Tournament.
Wynot earned their spot in the semis with a 54-49 win over Falls City Sacred Heart in round one. Red Cloud defeated Sumner-Eddyville-Miller in their quarterfinal matchup 62-53.

South Dakota Coyotes Men’s Basketball takes on Omaha tonight in the Summit League Tournament Quarterfinals.
The Coyotes swept the Mavericks in their regular season series, winning 68-64 in Omaha and 89-72 in Vermillion.

The #3-seeded Coyotes swept the #6-seeded Pioneers in the regular season, winning 53-42 and 75-55.

South Dakota State Men’s Basketball fell to St. Thomas in the Summit League Tournament Quarterfinals last night, 80-67.
Jaden Jackson led SDSU with 16 points in the loss, followed by 13 points each from Joe Sayler and Damon Wilkinson.
The Jackrabbits end their season with a 14-18 overall record and a 7-10 mark in Summit League play.
South Dakota State Women’s Basketball advanced to the Summit League Tournament Quarterfinals yesterday with a 75-61 win over Kansas City.
Brooklyn Meyer finished just shy of a double-double, posting a game-high 26 points and 9 rebounds. Madison Mathiowetz added 18 points for SDSU.
The Jackrabbits will be back in action tomorrow, taking on the winner of today’s matchup between South Dakota and Denver.
