The South Dakota Department of Transportation kicked off a major traffic signal project on Broadway in Yankton this week.
Greg Rothschadl, with the SD DOT, says they will be upgrading traffic signals and making modifications at several Broadway intersections.
Rothschadl says the center turn lanes at 4th and Broadway will be reconstructed to realign the left turn lanes to be directly across from each other.
Rothschadl says the driving lanes at 4th and Broadway will not be altered.
Rothschadl says the project will cost an estimated $3.8 million and is scheduled to be completed in late June of this year.
