Mount Marty Men’s Basketball advanced to the GPAC Semifinals last night with a 74-73 win over Briar Cliff, thanks to a last-second shot from Mac Ryken.
The game-winning bucket was the lone two points of the game for Ryken. Jake Jensen led the Lancers with 18 points and 6 rebounds.
Mount Marty will travel to Orange City, Iowa, on Saturday for the GPAC Semifinals against Northwestern. Tip-off is scheduled for 2:00 PM.
Mount Marty Women’s Basketball had their season come to an end last night with a 91-63 loss in the GPAC Quarterfinals to #1 Dordt.
Lacey Sprakel led MMU in her final game with 15 points and 4 assists. Alexus Motley added 12 points and 8 rebounds.
The Lancers end their season with a 15-14 overall record and their first GPAC Tournament appearance since 2016.
Yankton Bucks and Gazelles Basketball will head west tomorrow and Saturday to wrap up their regular seasons.
Action starts at 7:00 PM Central time tomorrow night as Yankton faces Spearfish. Pregame coverage on KYNT and KYNTV begins at 6:15 PM.
Yankton concludes their regular season on Saturday against Douglas. The girls will play first at 2:00 PM Central with the boys to follow.
Mount Marty Baseball hosts Bismarck State tonight for the first leg of their three-game series.
Tonight’s game is scheduled for 5:00 PM. The series will conclude with a doubleheader tomorrow beginning at noon.
Games will be hosted at Riverside Field in Yankton.
The Yankton Bucks and Gazelles will be in Sioux Falls today for the opening day of the boys and girls wrestling state tournaments at the Denny Sanford Premier Center.
Yankton qualified twelve wrestlers for the tournament. Representing the Bucks will be Colton Archer (106), Damian Janish (113), Brooks DeLozier (120), Ethan Smith (126), Zane Portillo (157), Shayce Platt (165), Edly Amaro (215), and Drace Gaskins (285). For the Gazelles, Chloe Caton (115), Alexis Brenden (120), Jaclyn Kyte (135), and Winry Yaggie (145) will all compete.
Matches are scheduled to begin at 10:00 AM. Both events will run through Saturday.
The Hartington-Newcastle Wildcats travel to Pender, Nebraska, tonight to take on Pender in the Class C2-5 Boys Basketball Subdistrict Finals.
The Wildcats advanced to the championship with a 60-52 win over Cedar Catholic on Tuesday. The top-seeded Dragons defeated Ainsworth in their semifinal matchup, 53-39.

South Dakota Coyotes Men’s Basketball ended a three-game losing streak last night with an 89-72 win over Omaha.
Jordan Crawford led the Coyotes with a game-high 26 points. Freshman Jesse McIntosh recorded 13 points and 6 rebounds in 14 minutes off the bench.
The Coyotes end their regular season on Saturday against South Dakota State. Tip-off from Vermillion is set for 1:00 PM.
South Dakota Coyotes Women’s Basketball rebounded from their recent loss to NDSU with an 80-66 win over North Dakota last night in Grand Forks.
Angelina Robles led the Coyotes with 17 points and 5 assists. Molly Joyce and Elise Turrubiates (Ter-ruby-ah-tiss) both added 16 points.
The Coyotes end their regular season on Saturday against SDSU in Brookings. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:00 PM.
South Dakota State Men’s Basketball travels to Kansas City, Missouri, tonight to take on the Kansas City Roos. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 PM.
South Dakota State Women’s Basketball picked up their 6th straight win last night, handing North Dakota State their first conference loss, 59-44.
Madison Mathiowetz (Math-o-wits) was the catalyst on offense with a game-high 23 points. Brooklyn Meyer added 18 points and 11 rebounds for a double-double.
The Jackrabbits conclude their regular season at home on Saturday against the South Dakota Coyotes.
