Last night at around 9PM, the Yankton County Sheriff’s Department initiated a traffic stop near the intersection of 305th Street and 444th Avenue northeast of Yankton.
The driver refused to stop, and pursuit was initiated. The suspect’s vehicle crashed near 8th and Burleigh after which the driver fled on foot.
The Sheriff’s Department says law enforcement safely apprehended the suspect who had four outstanding warrants.
Yankton Police and the South Dakota Highway Patrol assisted in the pursuit.
