The Mount Marty Lancers secured the #3 seed in the GPAC Men’s Basketball tournament last night with an 83-72 win over Concordia in Seward, Nebraska.
Sutton Arend led the Lancers with a game-high 23 points. Jake Jensen added 17 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 assists.
The Lancer men end their regular season with a 15-10 overall record, 13-7 in GPAC play. They will host an opening round GPAC Tournament matchup next Wednesday night. Their opponent will be decided following Saturday’s GPAC slate.
Mount Marty Women’s Basketball fell to the #11-ranked Concordia Bulldogs last night, 75-56 in Seward, Nebraska.
Alexus Motley led the Lancers with 15 points and 8 rebounds in the loss. Lacey Sprakel added 10 points and 5 rebounds.
The Lancers end their regular season on Saturday with a home matchup against the College of Saint Mary. Tip-off is scheduled for 2:00 PM.
The Yankton Bucks and Gazelles will host the Tea Area Titans tomorrow night for a boys’ and girls’ basketball doubleheader in Yankton.
Both Yankton squads are coming off losses on Tuesday at the hands of the Sioux Falls Christian Chargers.

Cedar Catholic’s Evelyn Freeman has been crowned the 120-pound Class B Girls’ Wrestling State Champion.
Freeman claimed the title with a 3-1 win over Ord’s Hadleugh Myers in the championship match.
Also placing highly was Crofton-Bloomfield’s Bethany Arens, who took home 6th at 145 pounds.
South Dakota Coyotes Men’s Basketball returns to the floor tonight to take on the Denver Pioneers.
Tip-off from Denver, Colorado, is scheduled for 8:00 PM Central/7:00 PM Mountain.

South Dakota State Men’s Basketball fell to the North Dakota State Bison last night, 74-66, in Brookings.
Matthew Mors and Damon Wilkinson tied for a team-high 18 points in the loss. Wilkinson added 8 rebounds, while Mors had 4 rebounds and 3 assists.
The Jackrabbits are back home on Saturday to host North Dakota. Tip-off is scheduled for 2:00 PM.
South Dakota State Women’s Basketball travels to Tulsa, Oklahoma, tonight to take on Oral Roberts.
