The man that was found guilty of aggravated assault against law enforcement in an incident that occurred in the parking lot of the Yankton High School in December of 2024 is set for a status hearing this morning.
Andrew Jondahl, 41, of Watertown, was in Yankton for a wrestling meet at the high school, when the police were called following a report that Jondahl had been escorted out of the event, appeared to be intoxicated, and was seated in a vehicle in the school parking lot with a firearm.
When Jondahl was ordered out of the vehicle by YPD, he was holding shotguns and two officers fired a total of 14 .223-caliber rounds. Jondahl sustained non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.
Jondahl was found guilty last month by a Yankton County jury.
Jondahl is scheduled to appear in court for a status hearing this morning at 10 am.
