Yankton Bucks Basketball fell in a close matchup with the O’Gorman Knights last night, falling 44-42.
Owen Eidsness led the Bucks with 15 points in the loss, followed by Jackson Kudera with 11.
The Bucks are back in action on Friday, hosting Brandon Valley at the Summit Activities Center.
Yankton Gazelles Basketball was defeated by the #2-ranked O’Gorman Knights on Tuesday, 76-38.
The Knights jumped in front quickly, starting the game with a 9-0 run. Eden Wolfgram led the Gazelles with 16 points in the loss.
The Gazelles travel to Huron on Thursday for their next game with the Tigers. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 PM tomorrow night.
The Mount Marty Lancers host the Hastings Broncos tonight in a GPAC Men’s and Women’s Basketball Doubleheader.
The Lancer men are currently tied with Concordia for 2nd in the GPAC with a 9-5 league record.
The Lancer women are tied for 6th in the conference with Doane, but the Tigers do own the tiebreaker after going 2-0 against the Lancers this season.
The women play first at 6:00 PM, with the men to follow. Pregame coverage on KYNT and KYNTV begins at 5:15 with Tehl Tanner on the call.
Yankton Senior Shayce Platt picked up his 100th varsity victory last night, as the Bucks swept their wrestling triangular with Huron and Tea Area.
Platt eclipsed the century mark with a pinfall victory in the Bucks’ 54-22 win over Huron. Also picking up wins for the Bucks were Brooks DeLozier and Zane Portillo.
Yankton defeated Tea Area in their other dual, 48-28. DeLozier picked up another win at 120, with Ethan Smith (126), Caden Janssen (144), Peyton Eustace (190), Drace Gaskins (285), Colton Archer (106), and Edly Amaro (215) all earning wins as well.
Yankton travels to Lennox on Friday for their next meet.
Yankton Gazelles Wrestling split their ESD triangular last night against the Huron Tigers and Tea Area Titans.
Yankton picked up a 42-12 win over Tea Area. Alexis Brenden (120) and Peyton Kyte (140) each won via pinfall. Yankton would fall to Huron 45-12 in their other dual.
Yankton travels to Lennox on Friday for their next meet.
Mount Marty Head Men’s Basketball Coach Collin Authier and Head Football Coach John Michaletti will be the featured guest speakers at today’s Yankton Quarterback Club meeting.
The meeting will be held at the River Rock Event Center beginning at noon. A meal will be available for purchase starting at 11:15. The public is invited to attend.
South Dakota Coyotes Women’s Basketball returns home tonight to host the St. Thomas Tommies. Tip-off from the Sanford Coyote Sports Center in Vermillion is scheduled for 7:00 PM.
South Dakota State Men’s Basketball travels to Omaha, Nebraska, tonight to take on the Omaha Mavericks. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 PM.
