The Yankton Bucks were defeated by the Huron Tigers last night, 54-43 in a Class AA Boys Basketball matchup.
Seven different Bucks players scored 5 or more points in the loss, led by 8 from Miles Drotzmann. Austin Conway led the way on the glass with 6 rebounds.
The Bucks are back home again on Friday, as they host the Watertown Arrows as part of a boys and girls doubleheader.
Yankton Bucks Wrestling fell to Bon Homme-Avon in their dual last night, 41-28, at Bon Homme High School.
Three Bucks picked up pinfall wins, Colton Archer (106), CorBin Sayler (190), and Drace Gaskins (285). Also earning victories for the Bucks were Brooks DeLozier (120), Evan Jackman (138), and Shayce Platt (165).
Next up for the Bucks is a home triangular at 4:00 PM tomorrow against Brandon Valley and Aberdeen Central.
The Yankton Gazelles were edged out by Bon Homme-Scotland-Avon last night in their girls’ wrestling dual, 28-24.
Adrianna Boucher (100), Chloe Caton (115), and Alexis Brenden (120) all earned pinfall victories for the Gazelles.
Next up for the Gazelles is a home triangular at 4:00 PM tomorrow against Brandon Valley and Aberdeen Central.
Adult and student all-session tickets for the 2026 South Dakota State Wrestling Tournament, Feb. 26-28 in Sioux Falls, are now available for purchase at the Yankton School District Administration Building at 2410 West City Limits Road.
Tickets are available for purchase during regular business hours through Friday at 4:30 p.m. Payment is due when the order is submitted. No credit or debit cards will be accepted.
South Dakota Men’s Basketball coach Eric Peterson and Mount Marty Athletic Director Andy Bernatow will be the featured speakers at today’s Yankton Quarterback Club meeting at the River Rock Event Center.
Peterson is in his 3rd season as Coyotes head coach, having tallied a 52-62 record so far at USD. The Coyotes are 9-9 so far this season.
A meal will be available for purchase beginning at 11:15 AM, with the meeting scheduled for noon. The public is invited to attend.
South Dakota Coyotes Men’s Basketball hosts the Kansas City Roos tomorrow night in Summit League Play.
USD is 9-9 overall and 1-2 in conference play this season. Tip-off from the Sanford Coyote Sports Center is set for 7:00 PM on Thursday.
South Dakota Coyotes Women’s Basketball returns to the court tonight against the University of North Dakota.
The Coyotes are 12-5 overall and 2-1 in Summit League play this season. Tip-off is set for 7:00 PM tonight in Vermillion.
South Dakota State Men’s Basketball travels to Fargo, ND, tonight to take on the North Dakota State Bison.
The 9-9 Jackrabbits hold a 2-1 record in conference play. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 PM this evening.
South Dakota State Women’s Basketball hosts Denver tomorrow night in a Summit League matchup.
The Jackrabbits are undefeated in conference play at 3-0, and hold a 13-4 overall record. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 PM on Thursday.
