Yankton Bucks Basketball fell to 0-2 last night with a 54-42 loss to the Sioux Falls Washington Warriors.
Beck Ryken (16) and Tegan LaCroix (14) combined for 30 points in the loss. Owen Eidsness added 6 rebounds and 5 steals.
The Bucks have their first road game of the year on Friday, taking on the Sioux Falls Lincoln Patriots at Lincoln High School.
Yankton Gazelles Basketball is now 1-2 on the season, following last night’s 57-24 loss to Sioux Falls Washington.
Eden Wolfgram recorded 10 points to lead the Gazelles. September Rauch posted a team-high 7 rebounds.
Yankton is off for their Holiday break, with their next game scheduled for January 3rd, on the road against Aberdeen Central.
Mount Marty Men’s and Women’s Basketball returns home tonight to host the Doane Tigers in a GPAC doubleheader.
The Lancers are coming off a sweep of Waldorf in their last doubleheader, winning the women’s game 89-34 and the men’s game 100-71.
The women play first at 6:00 PM tonight, with the men to follow. Pregame coverage on KYNT and KYNTV begins at 5:15 with Tehl Tanner on the call.
South Dakota State Head Men’s Basketball Coach Bryan Peterson will be the featured guest speaker at today’s Yankton Quarterback Club Meeting at the River Rock Event Center.
Peterson is in his first year as head coach, after spending the last six years as an assistant. Before his time on the staff in Brookings, Peterson led Kirkwood Community College to two NJCAA Division II titles, compiling a 157-38 record.
A meal will be available for purchase beginning at 11:15 AM, with the meeting beginning at noon. The public is invited to attend.
Cedar Catholic Boys and Girls Basketball were swept in their doubleheader with the Crofton Warriors last night in Hartington.
The Warriors claimed the girls’ game with a 48-44 win. Addyson Ostermeyer led Crofton with 14 points, while Cedar’s Annisten Wortmann had a game-high 22.
Crofton completed the sweep with a 49-38 win in the boys’ game. The Warriors held the Trojans’ offense to nearly 20 points under their season average.
Yankton Gazelles Gymnastics has a varsity dual against the Harrisburg Tigers tomorrow afternoon at River City Gymnastics & Cheer.
Events between the Gazelles and defending Class AA Champion Tigers begin at 5:30 PM on Thursday.
