Mount Marty University and Yankton community members gathered Wednesday night to celebrate the retirement of long-time university president Dr. Marc Long.
Long, who is the university’s 11th president, and held that title for 10 years, says he is grateful for all the support that he has received from the university, students, and community throughout the years.
Long says that he will always cherish how special and unique Mount Marty is.
During Long’s tenure with Mounty Marty, the university saw an enrollment increase of nearly 30 percent over eight years of consecutive enrollment growth, and saw the addition of football, archery, cheer, and dance to the university’s athletics, amongst several other accomplishments.
Long’s final day with Mount Marty University will be December 31st.
