An officer involved shooting that occurred at the Yankton High School one year ago from tomorrow is headed to trial.
Andrew Jondahl, 40, of Watertown, was in Yankton for a wrestling meet when law enforcement was called to the high school.
Officers identified that Jondahl had two weapons on his person and the situation escalated to the point where two of the officers on the scene fired shots and struck Jondahl multiple times.
Jondahl appeared in court Wednesday along with Brent Matter, his attorney who is based in Vermillion.
During Wednesday’s appearance in court, Matter and States’s Attorney Alexis Tracy questioned several potential witnesses and submitted evidence for the upcoming trial, which is scheduled to begin on January 26th in Yankton County.
Jondahl’s next court appearance is scheduled for January 7th at 9 am.
