Eight Yankton Bucks athletes have been named to the 11AA Football All-State team, with a ninth earning an honorable mention.
On offense, RB Jace Sedlacek, WR Owen Eidsness, OT Drace Gaskins, and OT Austin Conway were each selected, as the Bucks led 11AA in scoring this season.
Defensively, DL Edly Amaro, DB Tegan LaCroix, and DB Cale Haselhorst were all selected. Amaro led Yankton in TFLs (16) and sacks (4), while LaCroix and Haselhorst combined for 12 interceptions.
Rounding out the All-State honorees were punter Liam Villanueva as a special teams player and Quarterback Tate Beste as an honorable mention.
Yankton Bucks Hockey has their season opener tonight, as they host Huron at the Yankton Ice Arena.
The Bucks are coming off their best season in program history last year, finishing 5th in the class and punching their ticket to the state tournament for the first time ever.

The Mount Marty Lancers travel to Sioux City, Iowa, tomorrow afternoon for a men’s and women’s basketball doubleheader against Morningside.
The Lancer men enter the contest coming off back-to-back wins to start their GPAC slate over Dordt and Midland. The Lancers are outscoring their opponents by 18 points per game in conference play.
The Lancer women are 1-1 in GPAC play, picking up their first conference win over Midland on Wednesday, 76-37.

The Crofton Warrriors travel to Lincoln, Nebraska, on Monday to take on Sandy Creek in the NSAA D1 Football State Championship.
The Warriors are 10-2 on the year, riding an 8-game win streak into the state championship. In the postseason, Crofton has outscored their opponents 266-96 over four games, averaging 66.5 points per game.

South Dakota Coyotes Men’s Basketball fell to Missouri last night, 102-68 in Columbia.
The Coyotes were led by 18 points from Jordan Crawford. Isaac Bruns added 14 points and 4 rebounds in the loss.
The Coyotes are back home on Sunday, hosting South Carolina State inside the Sanford Coyote Sports Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 1:00 PM.
South Dakota State Women’s Basketball remained undefeated last night with a 72-63 victory over Gonzaga.
Madison Mathiowetz (math-o-wits) led the way with 17 points, followed by 16 points from Katie Vasecka (Va-seek-uh).
The now 5-0 Jackrabbits travel to Cancun, Mexico, next week for the Cancun Challenge. SDSU will face North Carolina, Columbia, and Kansas State.
South Dakota State Men’s Basketball is back in action tonight, as they host Georgia State.
The Jackrabbits are 3-2 to start their season following a 94-46 win over Peru State earlier this week.

The Gayville-Volin Raiders fell in five sets to Northwestern yesterday in the opening round of the Class B Volleyball State Tournament.
The Raiders took set one 25-22, before falling in the next two sets 25-12 and 25-22. Set four would go to Gayville-Volin 25-18, before Northwestern secured the win with a 25-18 set five.
The Raiders fall into the consolation bracket with the loss, while Northwestern advances to the semifinals. The Raiders will play #6 Harding County at 1:45 PM Central this afternoon.
