The Great Plains Athletic Conference has announced their 2025 Football All-Conference teams, with four Mount Marty Lancers earning second-team honors and one honorable mention.
Running back Kyle Hirsch was the lone offensive player to be named to the second team. Hirsch carried the ball 108 times for 442 yards and a touchdown this season, while also being second on the team in receiving with 51 catches for 495 yards and 5 touchdowns.
Three members of the Lancer defense were selected. Defensive linemen Brycen Mitchell and DJ Brown, and defensive back Arthur Oliver. Oliver posted 49 tackles from the secondary for MMU, adding in a team-high 4 interceptions and 2 sacks.
Brown and Mitchell were a dominant combination on the defensive line, combining for 73 tackles, 8 sacks, 13 tackles for loss, and 3 forced fumbles. Mitchell would lead the team in both sacks (6) and TFLs (8.5).
Quarterback Rugby Ryken was the lone Honorable Mention for the Lancers. Ryken threw for 2,531 yards and 27 touchdowns this season, adding another 205 yards and 3 touchdowns on the ground.
Mount Marty Men’s Basketball improved to 2-0 in GPAC play last night, defeating Midland 75-52.
Sutton Arend led the way for the Lancers with 18 points. Deggan Williams added 14 points, 8 assists, and 3 steals. Damon Opdahl and Jake Jensen each finished with 12 points.
The Lancers are back on the road on Saturday for their next game against Morningside in Sioux City, Iowa.
Mount Marty Women’s Basketball picked up their first GPAC win in dominant fashion last night, defeating Midland 76-37.
Alexsus Motley led in both points with 22 and rebounds with 11. Lacey Sprakel followed with 12 points and 9 boards of her own.
The Lancers are back on the road on Saturday for their next game against Morningside in Sioux City, Iowa.
Yankton Bucks Hockey has their season opener tomorrow night, as they host Huron at the Yankton Ice Arena.
The Bucks are coming off their best season in program history last year, finishing 5th in the class and punching their ticket to the state tournament for the first time ever.

The Gayville-Volin Raiders begin their third straight Class B Volleyball State Tournament today in Rapid City.
The 30-4 Raiders are the #7 seed in the tournament, as they take on #2 Northwestern in the opening round.
First serve is scheduled for 5:00 PM Mountain, 6:00 PM Central this evening at The Monument in Rapid City.

South Dakota Coyotes Men’s Basketball travels to Columbia, Missouri, tonight to take on the Missouri Tigers.
The Coyotes are 3-2 on the year following three straight wins. The Coyotes are being led by Junior Guard Isaac Bruns, who is averaging 17.4 points per game.
Tip-off from Columbia between the Coyotes and Tigers is scheduled for 7:00 PM this evening.
South Dakota State Women’s Basketball will take on Gonzaga tonight, inside the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls.
The Jackrabbits are undefeated this year at 5-0. Brooklyn Meyer leads the way, averaging 26 points, 9.2 rebounds, and 3.8 blocks per game.
Tip-off from Sioux Falls between the Jackrabbits and the Bulldogs is scheduled for 7:00 PM tonight.
South Dakota State Men’s Basketball is back in action tomorrow night, as they host Georgia State.
The Jackrabbits are 3-2 to start their season following a 94-46 win over Peru State earlier this week.
