Mount Marty Volleyball picked up their first GPAC win of the season last night, as they swept Hastings 3-0 inside Cimpl Arena.
Jaya Wachholtz led the Lancers’ attack with a game-high 13 kills. MMU was dominant at the net, recording 8 blocks as a team, with Caitlin Guenther having a hand in six of them.
The Lancers are on the road in York, Nebraska, on Saturday for a pair of matches. Taking on York at noon and Haskell Indian Nations University at 2:00.
Mount Marty Women’s Golf placed 6th as a team at the Siouxland Women’s Golf Invite, shooting +122 for the two-day event.
Trinity Palmquist improved six places on day two to lead the Lancers with a 13th-place finish at +25 for the tournament. Abigail Hreenhoff finished just behind in 15th.
The Lancers will host their next competition, with the MMU Invite scheduled for Monday and Tuesday of next week at Tatanka Golf Course.
Yankton Bucks and Gazelles Soccer return home this afternoon for a Class AA doubleheader against the Mitchell Kernels.
Action will begin at 5:00 with the boys game, as the 5th-place Bucks look to continue their win streak against the 18th-ranked Kernels.
The Gazelles look to continue their unbeaten run in the nightcap, as they enter with a 6-1-3 record, with their only loss coming on August 21st.

The Gazelles are looking to bounce back after a rough outing on Tuesday, which saw them drop both matchups against Mitchell and Sioux Falls Lincoln.
Yankton will play Rapid City Christian at 10:00 AM before taking on Sioux Falls Christian at 4:00 PM. Matches are held at 4:00 PM.
Yankton Cross Country travels to Norfolk, Nebraska, tomorrow morning for a varsity invitational.
The girls’ varsity is set to run at 10:00 AM, with the boys’ varsity scheduled for 10:30 AM. Races will be held at Skyview Lake.
Yankton Bucks Golf travels to Mitchell tomorrow for a competition at Lake View Golf Course. Tee time is set for 10:30 AM.
