For the first time in program history, the Mount Marty Lancers are receiving votes in the NAIA Football Top 25 Coaches Poll.
The Lancers received the third most votes of any team outside the top 25 following their 24-14 win over then #7 ranked Northwestern on Saturday. The Red Raiders fell to #15 with the loss.
The Lancers will host Briar Cliff on Saturday with the Catholic Cup on the line. Kickoff from Crane-Youngworth Field is scheduled for 6:00 PM.
The Yankton Bucks remain atop the latest Class 11AA Football Media poll, receiving all 25 first-place votes.
The Huron Tigers jumped to 2nd in this week’s poll, with Sturgis, Pierre, and Tea Area rounding out the top 5 in that order.
The Avon Pirates were also highly touted in this week’s poll, as they remain 2nd in Class 9B with a 4-0 record.
Yankton Gazelles Volleyball host the Huron Tigers tonight for a Class AA matchup inside the Summit Activities Center.
The Gazelles are currently 17th in Class AA with a 2-6 overall record. The Tigers also enter at 2-6, 15th in the standings.
First serve is set for 6:30 PM this evening.
Mount Marty Volleyball returns home tomorrow night, hosting Hastings College inside Cimpl Arena.
The Lancers are 6-6 so far this season, looking for their first GPAC win after a 3-1 loss to Doane on Saturday.
First serve is scheduled for 7:30 PM tomorrow night. Pregame coverage on KYNT and KYTNV begins at 7:00. Tehl Tanner will be on the call.
Yankton Bucks Golf placed 5th yesterday out of 15 teams at the Bill Scholten Invitational at Brookings Country Club.
The Bucks shot 302 as a team to take 5th, led by Brayden Byrkeland and Kai Cody, who finished 19th and 20th, respectively, at 75. Elijah Larson and Easton Vellek finished just behind, both shooting a 76.
Yankton will travel to Mitchell on Friday for their next invite. Tee time is scheduled for 10:30 AM at Lake View Golf Course.
Yankton Bucks and Gazelles Soccer travel to Huron this afternoon for a doubleheader against the Tigers.
Both Yankton teams are currently riding unbeaten streaks, as the Bucks haven’t lost since August 26th, and the Gazelles are undefeated since August 21st.
The boys will play first at 4:00 PM, with the girls to follow. Games will be held at Tiger Stadium in Huron.
Yankton Gazelles Tennis travels to Mitchell today for a varsity triangular at Hitchcock Park.
The Gazelles will play Mitchell first at 11:00 AM before taking on Sioux Falls Lincoln at 1:00 PM.
