Senior Quarterback Tate Best led the offense, completing 19 passes for 240 yards and 3 touchdowns. Owen Eidsness brought in 8 catches for 90 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Yankton’s defense forced three turnovers in the win, as Cale Haselhorst, Shayce Platt, and Gavin Johnson each had an interception.
Yankton has their home opener on Friday, as they host Watertown at Crane-Youngworth Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 PM.
The Mount Marty Lancers started their 2025 campaign with a win on Saturday, defeating Clarke 37-22 in Dubuque, Iowa.
Lancers’ Quarterback Rugby Ryken accounted for 5 total touchdowns, 4 through the air and 1 on the ground.
Malachy Harts led all rushers with 148 yards on the ground, while Kyle Hirsch accounted for 90 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Isaac Crownover led the Lancer defense in tackles with 8, with Daniel Pierce picking up an interception.
Mount Marty has their first GPAC game next Saturday, taking on Waldorf in Forest City, Iowa. Kickoff is scheduled for 5:00 PM.
Yankton Bucks and Gazelles Soccer return to action tonight, as they host Brookings at Crane-Youngworth Field.
The Bucks enter the contest with a 2-3-1 overall record, coming off a 3-0 shutout of Tea Area last Thursday. The Gazelles are 4-1-1 so far this season after they also shutout the Titans, 2-0.

Mount Marty Volleyball picked up three wins in four matches this past weekend in Oskaloosa, Iowa.
The Lancers went 2-0 on Friday, with a pair of 3-1 wins over Clarke University and Southwestern. The Lancers would split their matches on Saturday, defeating Graceland 3-1 before losing to William Penn 3-1.
Caitlin Guenther led the Lancers over the four-match stretch, recording 52 kills and 14 blocks. Julia Weber added a team-high 126 assists.
The Lancers retake the court tomorrow for a road matchup with the Morningside Mustangs. First serve is set for 7:00 PM in Sioux City.
Yankton Gazelles Volleyball picked up their first win of the season on Saturday, defeating South Sioux City 2-0 in the 5th place match of the Norfolk Volleyball Tournament.
Tyan Best led the way for Yankton, tallying 5 kills, 4 digs, and a pair of aces. Ellie Drotzmann added 4 kills and 2 blocks.
The Gazelles are now 1-4 on the year. They’ll host the Harrisburg Tigers tonight inside the Summit Activities Center. First serve is set for 6:30 PM.
Yankton Gazelles Tennis is now 8-3 on the season, as they finished up the weekend in Brookings with a 3-2 dual record.
Yankton went 1-2 on Friday, defeating Brookings 7-2, while falling to Harrisburg 6-3 and Aberdeen Central 5-3.
The Gazelles would win both duals on Saturday, defeating Aberdeen Roncalli 7-2, and Huron 6-3.
Yankton is back in action this morning with a triangular against O’Gorman and Brandon Valley in Sioux Falls. Matches begin at 11:00 AM.
Mount Marty Men’s and Women’s Soccer split their doubleheader with York on Saturday, as the women won 2-1, while the men lost 2-1.
Avery Kimball and Alyssa Rios scored for the Lances, leading the team to their second win of the season. Brooklyn McNac recorded 8 saves in net.
Sebastian Diaz picked up the lone goal of the match for the Lancer men, assisted by Lukas Amaya. Juan Pablo stopped 8 shots in the loss.

Yankton Gazelles Competitive Dance took home Grand Champion honors this past weekend at the Aberdeen Central Invitational.
Yankton scored a 257.5 in Pom and a 274 in Jazz, taking the top spot in both competitions. Yankton edged out Harrisburg 40-39 for the win.
During the Invitational, Yankton competitive cheer took home 7th in their competition with a score of 218.5.
Yankton travels to Mitchell for their next invite, on September 4th.
