Yankton Bucks Soccer played to a 2-2 draw yesterday afternoon in their class AA doubleheader with the Pierre Governors.
Jack Pedersen picked up the first goal for Yankton early in the second half, with Tony Guitron (gwee-tr-own) bagging the second.
Yankton is now 1-2-1 following the draw. They will take on Sioux Falls Jefferson in their next game on Tuesday in Sioux Falls.
Yankton Gazelles Soccer suffered their first loss of the season last night, as they were defeated by the Pierre Governors 2-0.
Yankton and Pierre entered the contest 4th and 5th in the Class AA standings with 2-0-1 records. Yankton falls to 2-1-1 with the loss while Pierre improves to 3-0-1.
The Gazelles will take on Sioux Falls Jefferson in their next game on Tuesday in Sioux Falls.
Yankton Gazelles Tennis hits the road today for a triangular at Brandon Valley High School in Brandon.
The Gazelles are 4-0 to start their season, following their home sweep of Lennox and Vermillion on Tuesday, winning both duels 6-3.
Yankton will play Watertown at 11:00 AM before facing Rapid City Stevens at 2:00 PM. The Gazelles will not face the hosts Brandon Valley during the event.
Yankton Bucks Golf heads to Sioux Falls this morning for a tournament at Willow Run Golf Course.
Yankton is coming off an 8th place finish at the East-West Invitational earlier this week. The Bucks shot 325 and 320 over the two rounds. Elijah Larson was the highest individual finisher, placing 15th.
Tee time is scheduled for 8:00 AM. Yankton will compete agaisnt Sioux Falls Lincoln and Washington, as well as Brandon Valley and Harrisburg.
Yankton Bucks Football will host a scrimmage this evening at Crane-Youngworth Field beginning at 7:00 PM.
The Bucks’ official season opener is set for August 29th, on the road against the Huron Tigers.
Mount Marty Women’s Soccer fell to Benedictine yesterday in their season opener.
The Lancers attack were shutout 3-0 in the loss, recording only one shot on goal. Defensively, Brooklyn McNac recorded six saves in net.
Mount Marty will be on the road for their next game, taking on Dakota State on Monday.
Mount Marty Volleyball opens their 2025 season tonight with a pair of matches in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
The Lancers finished last campaign with a 12-15 record, tallying a 4-12 mark in GPAC play.
Game one for the Lancers against Mount Marty is set for 5:00 PM, with game two to follow at 7:00 against the University of Michigan-Dearborn.
