Yankton Post 12 Legion Baseball ended their regular season with a sweep of the Renner Royals last night in Renner.
Yankton claimed game one 9-8. Easton Feser ended the game 3 for 4 at the plate with two runs scored and three runs driven in. Boston Frick earned the win on the mound, striking out eight batters over 6 and 1/3rd innings.
Yankton took another narrow victory in game two, winning 6-5 after trailing 5-0 after the second inning. Evan Serck recorded a pair of hits with an RBI, while Kael Garry pitched five innings of scoreless relief for the win on the mound.
Yankton ends the regular season with a 24-10 overall record, 14-5 in Class A play. Yankton is currently 2nd in the latest Class A standings.
Today is the final day for games that count towards the Class A standings. As it stands, Yankton would host Sturgis in a three-game series next Tuesday and Wednesday, with the winner advancing to the state tournament in Watertown.
The Yankton Lakers end their 2025 South Central League season undefeated after their 18-0 win over the Freeman Black Sox.
Cade Sudbeck and Drew Ryken each had three hits for the Lakers, combining for five total runs and four RBIs. Ryken also struck out six batters over six innings for the win on the mound.
Yankton ends the SCL season with a perfect 14-0 record. They enter the postseason 5th in the latest Class A Amateur Baseball poll. Freeman ends the SCL season in 4th at 7-7.
The Tabor Bluebirds ended their 2025 SCL season with a close win over the Crofton Blue Jays last night, 10-9.
Joey Slama had two hits and three RBIs in the win, including the walk-off single to win the game. Bryce Scieszinski struck out thirteen batters over six innings for Tabor.
Crofton was led by Austin Gobel, who recorded four hits, scoring two runs and driving in another.
Tabor finishes 2nd in the SCL regular season standings with an 11-3 record. Crofton finishes 6th at 4-10.
The Wynot Expos picked up a 6-2 victory over the Menno Mad Frogs last night to wrap up the South Central League regular season.
Jaelen Wieseler led the Expos, driving in a pair of runs on three hits. Wieseler also took the win on the mound, pitching four scoreless innings.
Connor Merriam was perfect at the plate for Menno, ending the game 3 for 3 with a run driven in.
Wynot ends their 2025 campaign 3rd in the league standings with a 9-5 record. Menno ends the season 8th at 2-12.
