Yankton Post 12 defeated Sioux Falls Post 15 East last night 4-3 in an extra-inning affair.
Gavin Johnson sealed the win for Yankton with a walk-off hit to center field to score Easton Nelson
Easton Feser drove in two runs as well. Tate Beste closed the game out, earning the win on the mound.
Game two of last night’s scheduled doubleheader was canceled due to weather. Post 12 ends their regular season on Thursday with a road doubleheader against Renner.
Five members of the South Dakota Coyotes Football program have earned Preseason All-American recognition from STATS Perform.
Running back Charles Pierre Jr earned 1st-team honors. Pierre was also named the best returning FCS running back by HERO Sports earlier this summer.
Quarterback Aidan Bouman earned 2nd-team honors heading into the 2025 season. Bouman is 3rd in USD history in passing yards, 5th in touchdown passes, and has the most career wins of any Coyote QB during their time at the Division I FCS level.
Rounding out the Coyote honorees on the 3rd-team are linebacker Nate Ewell, the only returning defensive starter for the Coyotes, kicker Will Leyland, and kick returner Keyondray Jones-Logan
The Coyotes open their 2025 season in Ames, Iowa, on August 30th for a matchup with the Iowa State Cyclones.
The South Dakota State Jackrabbits had four athletes selected as STATS Perform Preseason All-Americans ahead of their 2025 football season.
Three Jackrabbits made the 2nd-team. Offensive lineman Quinten Christiansen and transfer running back Julius Loughridge (Low-ridge) represent SDSU on offense, while defensive lineman Kobe Clayborne was the lone SDSU defender on the list.
Rounding out SDSU’s selections is long snapper Kaydon Olivia, who is a 3rd-team All-American.
SDSU opens its season at home on August 30th against Sacramento State. It will be the first game under new head coach Dan Jackson.
The South Central Amateur Baseball League wraps up their regular season tomorrow with three games.
Wynot will travel to Menno, Freeman will host the #1 team in the league, Yankton, and Crofton will face Tabor in a battle between the Blue Jays and the Bluebirds.
