Yankton Post 12 Legion Baseball returns home tonight for a Class A doubleheader against Sioux Falls Post 15 East.

With just four Class A games left in the regular season, Yankton is 4th in the standings with an 11-5 record in league play, while East is currently 3rd at 10-4. Less than 0.03 seed points separate the two teams.

Yankton defeated Sioux Falls East earlier this year in the Lewis and Clark Classic 13-5, but that game did not count towards Class A standings.

First pitch of game one is scheduled for 5:00 PM, with game two to follow. Pregame coverage on KYNT and KYNTV begins at 4:15. Bryce Ladwig and Brayden Butler will be on the call.

The Yankton Lakers locked up the top spot in the South Central Amateur Baseball League last night with a 15-6 win over Tabor.

Lucas Kampshoff was almost perfect at the plate, finishing with five hits, four RBIs, a home run, and three runs scored in six at-bats. Evan Steiner struck out five for the win on the mound.

Joey Slama led the Bluebirds, driving in four of their six runs in the game. Zach Cuka was credited with the loss.

Yankton, now 13-0 in league play, moves three games clear of Tabor with one game remaining. The Bluebirds remain in 2nd at 10-3.

The Lesterville Broncs defeated the Wynot Expos last night, 7-5, in South Central Amateur Baseball League action.

Three different Broncs recorded a pair of hits Ethan Wishon, Hunter Martin, and Michael Drotzmann. Tyler Edler was credited with the win on the mound.

David Schenk led the Expos with two hits in the loss. Landon Wieseler struck out four over six innings for Wynot, he did not factor into the decision.

After last night’s game, Lesterville improves to 6-8 in SCL play and remains 5th in the standings, while Wynot is 3rd at 8-5. The league season is scheduled to end on Thursday. Full league standings and Thursday’s schedule are available below.
