A severe storm carrying heavy rains, high winds, and hail swept through Yankton County on Monday.
Yankton County Emergency Manager Paul Scherschligt says the storm cell showed a tornado on radar as well, but no touchdown was reported.
Scherschligt says that heavy rain came down in under an hour as the storm passed through, reaching over two inches in some areas.
Scherschligt says that the northern parts of Yankton County suffered damage from hail that measured nearly two inches in diameter.
In the event of future severe weather, Scherschligt encourages everyone to have a weather radio and a shelter plan in place.
