A Yankton School Board member is pushing for a district-wide phone ban that could take effect as soon as the 2026–2027 school year.
Terry Crandall suggested the idea at Monday’s school board meeting and says based on his research, he believes this is the best way for the district to stay ahead of technology.
While the topic of reducing cell phone usage during school did not include a formal call to action, Crandall says he hopes the newly elected board members will take the topic into consideration during their upcoming term.
