The Yankton Baseball Association has announced that they’re no longer allowing animals inside Riverside Field during YBA events.
YBA President, Franni Keiffer, says the action is being taken to ensure the safety of players, coaches, fans, and to maintain a positive and focused environment for all teams.
Kieffer says the policy change follows several incidents, including:
- A child nearly being bitten
- People tripping over leashes
- Disruptive barking during active play
- Confrontations between multiple dogs
The new policy officially goes into effect on Sunday.
