Yankton Bucks Baseball punched their ticket to the State Tournament on Saturday with a two-game sweep of Brookings in the Class A Super Regionals.
Yankton took game one 6 to 4. Six different Bucks recorded a hit in the win, led by Trey Sager, who finished with a pair of RBIs. Sam Gokie earned the win on the mound.
Yankton controlled game two, using a four-run first inning to claim a 9 to 1 win. Gavin Johnson and Easton Feser each recorded a home run. Beck Ryken picked up the victory on the mound.
Yankton will be the #5 seed in the Class A State Tournament. They’ll play #4 Sioux Falls Jefferson on Friday at 2:30 PM in round one. All games will be held at Sioux Falls Stadium, home of the Canaries.

Yankton Track and Field finished third in the boys’ division and sixth in the girls’ division at this past weekend’s Eastern South Dakota Conference Championships in Harrisburg.
The Bucks picked up multiple top-3 finishes, including two event victories, with Miles Drotzmann winning the 110 hurdles, while the team of Evan Serck, Abe O’Brien, Connor Slaba, and Carson Ness won the 1600 meter relay.
Burkley Olson picked up the lone event win for the Gazelles, winning the long jump with a distance of 17-07.25.
Yankton now turns their attention to a last chance meet in Sioux Falls on Thursday. All top-3 finishers for the Bucks and Gazelles are listed below.

Yankton Gazelles Softball has their final home game of the regular season tonight, hosting Tea Area at Sertoma Park.
Yankton is 6 and 11 on the year following their 15 to 3 win over Beresford last week. Tea Area enters with a 4 and 8 overall record.
First pitch is scheduled for 6:00 PM this evening.
South Dakota Coyotes Track and Field finished 3rd in the men’s division and 2nd in the women’s division at this past weekend’s Summit League Outdoor Track Championships.
USD took home a meet-best twelve event championships, and the 2nd most total medalists at twenty-eight.

- Yankton defeated Crofton 7 to 1.
