The Yankton County Commission has decided to move forward with the feasibility study of adding a juvenile detention center in Yankton County.
Commission Chair, John Marquardt says that it is the right time to move forward with the study after over a year of contemplating the issue.
Yankton County Sheriff, Preston Crissey says that it cost the county around $300,000 to house juveniles in Minnehaha County last year.
TEGRA, a consulting group out of Sioux Falls will conduct the 90-day study.
