Mount Marty Men’s Basketball fell to the South Dakota State Jackrabbits last night, 89-41 in Brookings.

The Lancers were led by Tash Lunday who recorded 14 points in the loss, followed by Mac Ryken with 9. The loss will not count towards the Lancers record due to SDSU being in the NCAA Division 1. MMU remains 3-2 overall.

Oscar Cluff led SDSU in the win with 14 points and 9 rebounds. Kalen Garry, 13, and Stoney Hadnot, 11, also scored in double figures.

The Lancer men are back in action tomorrow night, taking on Midland in Fremont, Nebraska. SDSU also returns to the hardwood tomorrow night, hosting Southern Miss.

Mount Marty Women’s Basketball is on the road tomorrow night to take on the Midland Warriors in GPAC Play.

The Lancers are 6-1 coming off their first loss of the season on Saturday to Northwestern. Midland is 0-4 so far this year following their 88-48 loss to Briar Cliff on Saturday.

Tomorrow’s game will be part of a men’s and women’s doubleheader between MMU and Midland. The women play first at 6:00 PM with the men to follow. Pregame coverage on KYNT begins at 5:30. Tehl Tanner will be on the call.

The Great Plains Athletic Conference released their All-Conference teams for Men’s and Women’s Soccer yesterday, with MMU’s Zach Hebda and Brooklyn McNac being selected.

Hebda was 2nd-team All-GPAC for the Lancer Men. He led the Lancers with 5 goals this season and is the first member of the men’s team to be selected as 2nd team all-conference since 2019.

McNac first Lancer women’s soccer player to be named to the All-Conference team since 2015. McNac posted one shutout and a .752 save percentage in net for the Lancers.

Also earning recognition were Oliver Danser and Moriah Harrison, who were each picked as Honorable Mentions.

South Dakota Coyotes sophomore running back Charles Pierre Jr. has been named Co-Missouri Valley Football Conference (MVFC) Offensive Player of the Week, following USD’s win over North Dakota on Saturday.

Pierre rushed for a career-high 173 yards and a touchdown in the win, becoming the first Coyote since joining the FCS to rush for 1,000 yards in a single season.

Pierre becomes the fourth Coyote to earn a weekly honor this season, joining Keyondray Jones-Logan, Quaron Adams, and Mi’Quise Grace.

Yankton Bucks Basketball Coach Chris Haynes will be the featured guest speaker at tomorrow’s Yankton Quarterback Club Meeting.

Haynes will preview the upcoming Bucks Basketball season, which tips off on December 13th.

A paid meal will be available at 11:15, with the meeting beginning at noon at the River Rock Event Center in Yankton. The public is invited to attend.

South Dakota Coyotes Women’s Basketball picked up their first win of the season yesterday, defeating Bellevue University 74-50.

Carley Duffney posted a team-high 23 points, followed by Alexi Hempe with 18. Grace Larkins added a 17-point 13-rebound double-double in the win.

USD is back on the hardwood on Thursday, hosting North Carolina Central inside the Sanford Coyote Sports Center.

South Dakota Men’s Basketball is back in action tomorrow night, taking on Western Michigan.

The Coyotes are 4-1 on the year coming off a 92-69 win over Dakota Wesleyan last Thursday. 

Tip-off from Kalamazoo, Michigan is scheduled for 6:00 PM.
