Mount Marty Football guaranteed their first winning season in program history on Saturday with a 24-21 win over Hastings.

Quarterback Rugby Ryken had a pair of touchdowns in the win, one passing and one rushing. Running Back Kyle Hirsch recorded 61 yards rushing and a touchdown. His score plus the extra point gave the Lancers their first lead of the game in the 3rd quarter.

Following the win, the Lancers are now 6-4 on the season. They will conclude their regular season with a home game against Doane this Saturday.

Yankton Bucks Football had their season come to an end last Friday, as they were defeated by Pierre 14-9 in the Class 11-AA Semi-Finals.

Easton Nelson threw for 122 yards in the loss, adding another 64 yards on the ground. Evan Serck rushed for 104 yards and scored the lone touchdown for the Bucks.

Yankton ends their season with an 8-3 record. Pierre will take on Watertown this week in the Class 11-AA State Championship Game.

 Mount Marty Men’s Cross Country finished 4th at the GPAC Conference Meet over the weekend, their best finish in program history.

Logan Ferrari, 6th, and Joseph Cross, 10th, each earned All-GPAC Honors for finishing inside the top-15. The Lancer Women raced to a 9th place finish, led by a 28th place run from Freshman Isabella Ramsgard.

The NAIA National Championships will be held on November 22nd in Columbia, Missouri. Qualifiers will be announced in the near future.

Mount Marty Men’s Basketball fell to USD on Sunday, 77-47. The game was an exhibition for MMU, so the loss will not count toward the Lancers’ record.

Tash Lunday led the Lancers with 7 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 assists. Posting the team-high in all three categories.

The Coyotes were led by Shey Eberwein who posted 15 points in the win. Isaac Bruns, 11, and Dre Bullock, 10, also scored in double figures.

The Lancers open GPAC Play next Saturday with a home game against Northwestern. USD will be on the road for their next game, taking on the Iowa Hawkeyes on Tuesday in Iowa City.

The Cedar Catholic Trojans were eliminated from the Class C2 Playoffs last Friday, as they fell to Bishop Neumann 24-21.

Quarterback Braeden Reifenrath finished the day 21-of-24 passing for 162 yards and three touchdowns for the Trojans.

Cedar Catholic ends their season with an 8-3 record. Bishop Neumann will face Battle Creek in the C2 Semi-Finals.

The Crofton Warriors fell to Summerland last Friday night, 48-38, ending the Warriors season.

Crofton finishes their season in the Class D1 Quarterfinals with a 9-2 overall record. Summerland advances to take on  Stanton in the Semi-Finals.

The South Dakota Coyotes improved to 7-2 on Saturday with a 49-0 shutout win over Missouri Valley Football Conference foes Indiana State.

Aidan Bouman threw for 238 yards and a pair of touchdowns in the win. Running back Charles Pierre Jr. added 165 yards and another two touchdowns on the ground.

USD is on the road next week for the final time in the regular season, taking on North Dakota in Grand Forks, before returning home to host NDSU on November 23rd.

The South Dakota State Jackrabbits are now 8-2 on the year following their 38-7 win over North Dakota last Saturday.

Quarterback Mark Gronowski threw three touchdown passes in the win, all three hauled in by Griffin Wilde (Will-dee), who finished with five catches for 140 yards.

SDSU returns home on Saturday for Senior Day to host Southern Illinois.

South Dakota Women’s Basketball fell to 0-2 on the season with a 73-66 loss to Air Force on Friday.

Grace Larkins posted team highs in points, 15, rebounds, 9, and assists, 6, in the loss. Alexi Hempe, 13, and Carley Duffney, 12, also scored double digits for the Coyotes.

USD returns home on Wednesday to host LMU inside the Sanford Coyote Sports Center.

South Dakota State Men’s Basketball edged out Long Beach State on Friday 80-79 to improve to 2-0 on the season.

Oscar Cluff posted a 23-point, 14-rebound double-double in the win. Joe Sayler also eclipsed the 20-point mark with 21 for the Jacks.

SDSU is in Rapid City for their next game, taking on Northern Colorado on Thursday in a neutral site game at the Summit Arena.

South Dakota State Women’s Basketball remained undefeated on Friday with a 76-71 victory over #21 Creighton.

Brooklyn Meyer led SDSU with 17 points and a pair of blocks in the win. In total, SDSU had five different players post 10+ points.

SDSU is home again on Wednesday to host Wisconsin inside First Bank & Trust Arena in Brookings.
