Yankton Gazelles Tennis is in Rapid City today for the opening day of the Class AA State Tournament. 

Matches are scheduled to begin at 8:00 AM this morning. Opening-round matchups for the Gazelles are listed below.

In Singles Play:

  • Nora Krajewski has a first-round bye as the #2 seed in Flight 1.
  • Sabrina Krajewski is the #3 seed in Flight 2. She will face #14 Kili Cole of Rapid City Central in round one.
  • Paige Mitzel is the #3 seed in Flight 3. She will take on #14 Audrey Wilhelm of Sioux Falls Jefferson in round one.
  • Addison Gordon is the #9 seed in Flight 4. She will face #8 Avery Rehfeldt of Sioux Falls Jefferson in round one.
  • Karalyn Koerner is the #8 seed in Flight 5. She will face #9 Isabella Neilan of Sioux Falls Jefferson in round one.
  • Meagan Scott is the #10 seed in Flight 6. She will take on #7 Kaia Pauli of Sioux Falls Jefferson in round one.

 In Doubles Play:

  • Nora and Sabrina Krajewski have a first-round bye as the #1 seed in Flight 1.
  • Paige Mitzel and Addison Gordon are the #4 seed in Flight 2. They will face a duo from Sioux Falls Jefferson in round one.
  • Karalyn Koerner and Meagan Scott are the #8 seed in Flight 3. They will face a team from O’Gorman in round one.

Mount Marty Men’s and Women’s Soccer was swept last night by Hastings in a GPAC doubleheader.

The Lancer Women fell 1-0 to Hastings in game one. Brooklyn McNac recorded 17 saves in net for MMU.

The Lancer Men were defeated 4-3 to end the night. Jose De Araujo, Georgie Downes, and Lukas Amaya each scored a goal for the Lancers.

The Lancer Men and Women are back in action tomorrow, hosting Northwestern for a GPAC doubleheader at Crane-Youngworth Field beginning at 11:00 AM.

Yankton Bucks Football is on the road tomorrow night to take on the Brookings Bobcats at Dana J. Dykhouse Stadium.

Yankton enters as the #3 team in the Class AA Media Polls, with the Bobcats jumping into 1st place this week.

Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 PM. Pregame coverage on KYNT and KYNTV begins at 6:30. Bryce Ladwig and Josh Boelter will be on the call.

Yankton Gazelles Volleyball returns to the court tonight, hosting the Brandon Valley Lynx inside the Summit Activities Center.

This is the first match for the Gazelles since October 1st, where they were defeated by Sioux Falls Jefferson 3-1.

First serve is scheduled for 7:00 PM. Pregame coverage on KYNT and KYNTV begins at 6:30. Brayden Butler will be on the call.

Mount Marty Volleyball is set to host the Dordt Defenders tonight in a GPAC clash inside Cimpl Arena.

The Lancers are 12 and 8 on the year coming off a 3-0 loss to the #1 ranked Northwestern Red Raiders on Tuesday.

First serve is scheduled for 7:30 PM this evening.

Yankton Competitive Cheer and Dance is in Watertown tonight for a varsity invitational. Events are scheduled to begin at 5:00 PM at Watertown High School.

University of South Dakota Women’s Basketball standout Grace Larkins has been named to the Becky Hammon Mid-Major Player of the Year Watch List.

Larkins is one of four Coyotes to be named to the preseason watchlist, joining Hannah Sjerven (Shur-ven), Chloe Lamb, and inaugural award winner Ciara (K-ear-uh) Duffy.

Also named to the watch list are in-state rivals Brooklyn Meyer and Paige Meyer of South Dakota State.
