  • The (2-0) Yankton Bucks host their first home game of the season tonight as (1-1) Watertown takes the field for varsity football action. Bucks Coach Brady Muth says Yankton’s run game may be the key to a victory under the lights tonight.

  • The Yankton Gazelles fell 2-0 and the Bucks played to a 1-1 draw in a varsity soccer double-header in Brookings yesterday. The Gazelles (1-7-1) and Bucks (4-3-2) return home to Crane-Youngworth Field Tuesday versus Huron. You can catch the action live on KYNT and KYNTV with Josh Boelter and Brayden Butler, pregame coverage begins at 330pm with Gazelles beginning the double-header action.
  • The Gazelles (1-8) fell to Sioux Falls Washington in Varsity Volleyball action last night in three sets (25-18, 25-11, 25-13). The Gazelles now finish their long streak of road games Tuesday when they travel to Huron on Tuesday for a 7pm first serve. The last home match for the Gazelles was on August 25th, and their next home match is this coming Thursday vs Mitchell.
  • Yankton Competitive Dance and Cheer hosted the 14th Annual Yankton Invitational last night, finishing 12th in Cheer with a 129.5 score, and 5th in Dance with a 257.5 score. Dakota Valley placed 1st in Dance with a 278 score, while SF Jefferson took 1st in Cheer with a 273.5 score. Yankton’s next competition is in Brookings on the 17th, beginning at 11am. Yankton hosts another home competition, the ESD Conference Meet on the 13th of October.
  • The Yankton Bucks host 15 teams at Fox Run Golf Course this morning for a varsity golf invitational, tee-off is set to begin at 9am.
  • It’s Huskers Gameday tomorrow as Nebraska (1-1) hosts Georgia Southern (1-0) for an evening clash at Memorial Stadium in Lincoln. You can listen to the action live on your country home for the Huskers, Hot Country 93-1, pregame coverage begins at 230pm, kickoff at 630pm.
  • The (0-1) Coyotes football squad look to bounce back after a disappointing season debut last weekend as they travel to (1-0) Montana tomorrow for a 2pm kickoff. According to multiple analysts, the Coyotes have the most difficult in the FCS Subdivision this season.
  • The Kansas City Chiefs begin their 2022 season Sunday as they travel to Arizona to clash with the Cardinals. You can listen to the action live on your home for Kansas City Chiefs Football, KYNT. Pregame coverage begins at 2pm, kickoff at 325pm. The Chiefs are coming off an AFC Championship appearance last season, marking their fourth straight season reaching either the conference championship game or the Super Bowl.
  • A benefit for Yankton High School senior Garrett Nelson and his family will be held prior to Yankton’s home football game today at Crane-Youngworth Field. Garrett, the son of Tim and Amy Nelson, was recently diagnosed with Large B Cell Lymphoma.  While this cancer is curable, Garrett and his family have been traveling back and forth to the Mayo Clinic as well as Sioux Falls for extensive treatments. This evening, there will be a tailgate hot dog feed from 5:30-6:45 p.m. at Crane-Youngworth Field. The meal will be a free-will donation. There will also be a raffle for “All Things Yankton Bucks and Gazelles,” as well as t-shirts available for purchase.
  • Tomorrow, the Mount Marty Lancers football program begins conference play with a road trip to Hastings Nebraska. Hastings college is currently 1-1 on the season and suffered a loss to GPAC rival Midland last weekend. Mount Marty enters the contest 1-0 after a 42-10 victory over Presentation college in week zero, and had their bye last week. This week-two GPAC matchup will begin at 1 p.m. with pregame coverage on KYNT beginning at noon.
  • The Mount Marty women’s golf team finished the two-day Siouxland Invite last night in third place overall. The Lancers finished with a team score of 356, led by sophomore Kelsey Heath, who had a two-day total of 154 (75-79) to give her the best Lancer score both days. Next, the Lancers will play in the Lila Frommelt Invite in Sioux City beginning on September 14th.
  • The Lancer volleyball program began conference play with a victory over (RV) Doane University on Wednesday. Now the Lancers are set for a home conference matchup with Hastings College on Saturday at 3 p.m. The Lancers return to the Cimpl Arena with a 5-3 overall record.
  • The undefeated Mount Marty Men’s soccer team will host Trinity Bible College Saturday at Crane Youngworth Field at 330 p.m. The Lancers began the season with a 3-0-1 overall record.
  • The Mount Marty cross country teams will compete in the Herb Blakley Invite Saturday in Madison South Dakota. This cross-country race will begin at 10:30 a.m. It will be the second outing for both program
