Renovations to the Westside Park Pond will begin this week.
Yankton Parks and Recreation Director Todd Larson says that the project will cost $1.16 million dollars.
Some of the improvements to West Side Park include a new bridge, patio area, and aquatic plants among other improvements
Larson also says that animals that can’t migrate away from the pond have been relocated to local farms.
Larson added that the goal is to be done with the renovations by November of this year.
