Crofton Voters Preparing For Bond Election

Registered voters in the Crofton School District have been mailed a ballot to vote on a bond issue.

Voters are being asked to vote for or against the issuance of a tax levy bond not to exceed eighteen point nine million dollars.

Crofton School Superintendent Chris Look says the bond if approved, would allow the school district to construct an elementary school onto the high school…

Look adds that there are not only space concerns at the Elementary School, but also the High School. He says students are forced to share locker rooms across genders…

The estimated tax impact of the bond issue is 24 cents per $100 of taxable valuation. If approved, construction on the new elementary school would take over two years.

Ballots are required to be returned by March 15th.
