The University of South Dakota volleyball squad rallied from two sets behind to pick up a 3-2 victory over Denver in the Summit League post-season title match on Saturday in the Pentagon in Sioux Falls. The Coyotes staved off three match points and won the deciding fifth set by a 19-17 score. Elizabeth Juhnke led the Coyotes with 23 kills and was named the Tournament Most Valuable Player. South Dakota advances to its second-ever NCAA Division One National Volleyball Tournament, and will face Missouri at 11 a-m on Wednesday, April 14th in Omaha.
The USD women’s sports program had a big day on Saturday. The Coyotes swept a softball doubleheader over North Dakota by scores of 9-1 and 7-0, while the USD women’s soccer team shut out North Dakota State 3-0.
