While we recognize the police and fire departments here in Yankton County, one department that may be overlooked is the Emergency Management department.
The Emergency Management department exists to protect residents in Yankton County from any natural or man-made disaster that may happen.
Director of Emergency Management Paul Scherschligt says this type of work runs in his blood.
Scherschligt also says that you have to be able to make quick decisions in his line of work.
