Along with the requirement that all staff and students throughout the Yankton School District wear facemasks in response to the COVID 19 pandemic, a number of other changes will be implemented when classes resume next month.
Superintendent Wayne Kindle says along with hand sanitizers throughout school buildings, custodial staff will be intensifying their efforts to keep buildings clean.
Kindle says with social distancing guidelines in mind, plans are being developed to provide lunch to students.
Kindle says the school district is hiring additional nurses to help address any health related concerns that may arise.
Meeting in special session earlier this week, the Yankton School Board approved requiring students and staff in Yankton School District, unless they are able to socially distance themselves, to wear face masks in response to the COVID 19 pandemic.
