City of Yankton sales tax receipts declined in June, but not as much as many other cities across South Dakota.
Yankton City Manager Amy Leon says the BBB sales tax revenues fell 13 percent last month, which was expected with fewer visitors due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Leon says sales tax revenue overall declined just over one percent for the month, but is still up nearly three percent for the year. Leon says the sales tax revenue impacts the budget numbers significantly for the next year.
Leon says she will recommend the Yankton City Commission holds a budget workshop discussion following their regular meeting on Monday, August 10th.
