The future of the Yankton County Health Board will be discussed this Thursday at a meeting of the Yankton County Commission.
Commission Chair Cheri Loest says commissioners will consider whether to allow the board to continue to operate or to disband on the June 4th sunset date.
Loest says if the peak period of COVID 19 cases is still ahead of us, keeping the health board in place could make sense.
Loest says some of the discussion will involve looking at any potential negatives to allowing the health board to continue to operate.
Loest says the meeting will be available via FaceBook Live and due to the COVID 19 pandemic, anyone attending in person is asked to wear a face mask.
The Yankton County Commission meets at 6 PM Thursday at the Yankton County Government Center.
