KYNT Local Sports for 6-26-20

Mount Marty has announced adjustments in coaching for their women’s and men’s golf programs.  Current head coach Logan Wagner is stepping down from that position and will be moving to a new role in the Mount Marty Advancement Office.  Todd Schlimgen will return to guide the Lancer women’s golf program and Todd Lorensen will take over the helm for the Mount Marty men’s golf team.

University of South Dakota senior Zack Anderson of Parker has been selected for the second year in a row for the Division One Academic All-American Third Team in Men’s Track and Field.  Anderson holds the Coyote school records in both the indoor and outdoor high jump, and is a three-time All-American.  Anderson carries a 3.52 GPA majoring in Physical Education at USD.

Rapid City Post 22 has another powerful Legion baseball team this year.  Last night Rapid City shut out Yankton by scores of 12-0 and 16-0, allowing just one hit on the evening.  Yankton is 1 and 6 overall with a game this afternoon against the Rapid City Expos.  In Junior Legion baseball on Thursday, the Rapid City Post 22 Expos swept a pair of games over Yankton by scores of 10-0 and 14-4.

The Yankton Tappers stayed unbeaten in South Central League amateur baseball Thursday with a 15-2 win over Irene.  Caid Koletzky and Julito Fazzini each had four hits for the Tappers.  Tabor is still one game behind after a 10-0 shutout over Scotland as Brandon Kemp fired six innings for the Bluebirds, allowing just three hits.  Crofton blanked Menno 5-0 last night as Tyler Priest pitched a three-hit complete game shutout.

Tonight in the South Central League, Scotland plays at Lesterville and Wynot will host Freeman.
