KYNT Local Sports for 6-25-20

The Yankton Lakers youth baseball team held off Tyndall 14-9 Wednesday at Riverside Field.  Austin Gobel led Yankton with four hits and three RBI’s.

Tonight, the Yankton Legion squad takes a 1 and 4 record out west for a twin bill at Rapid City Post 22.  This afternoon, the Yankton Junior Legion team plays a doubleheader at the Rapid City Expos.

There are four games scheduled tonight in South Central League amateur baseball.  The Yankton Tappers will host Irene, the Yankton Lakers play at Wynot, Scotland visits Tabor and Crofton entertains Menno.

Matthew Schaefer of Fordyce and former U-S-D standout Jesse Talcott each won two matches Wednesday to reach the Top Eight of the Nebraska Golf Association Match-Play Championship.  The quarter-finals and semi-finals will be played today at Hillcrest Country Club in Lincoln.  Former Yankton all-state golfer Jace Guthmiller of Omaha lost in the first round of playoffs yesterday.

The University of South Dakota is preparing to host their largest fundraiser Friday evening.  This year, the Howling Pack will host a Virtual event, Calling All Coyotes, starting at 5:30 p-m.  After a social hour with interviews, the live auction will be streamed on-line at 6:30 tomorrow night which can be viewed on the Coyotes Facebook and YouTube pages.
