With operations now across a five county region, the South East CASA program is looking for volunteers to assist and advocate for abused and neglected children who find themselves in the court system.
Executive Director Sherri Rodgers-Conti says the COVID 19 pandemic has forced CASA volunteers to use new tactics to gather the information the court system needs to make good decisions regarding these children’s lives.
Rodgers-Conti says extra care has been taken to use social distancing when interacting with children in the CASA program.
Rodgers-Conti says CASA volunteers need to be caring individuals who can make a commitment to these children’s welfare.
Conti says CASA now is serving abused and neglected children in Yankton, Clay, Union, Bon Homme, and Turner Counties.
