Potential adoption of amendments to Yankton County’s zoning regulations covering the sizes of accessory structures such as garages and sheds is on the agenda for Tuesday’s meeting of the Yankton County Commission.
Commissioner Joe Healy says the number of variance requests that have been approved by the board shows that the zoning regulations need to be overhauled.
Healy says as the needs of local citizens change, ordinances need to be updated.
Healy says residents need larger structures to safely store expensive items such as campers and boats.
The Yankton County Commission meets Tuesday at 6 PM at the Yankton County Government Center.
The meeting will be streamed live on the Yankton County Commission’s Facebook Group for the public to view. People who wish to speak during public comment but who want to attend on-line can call 605-260-4433 ahead of time to sign up for public comment
