Yankton’s five city commission candidates fielded questions from representatives of local media outlets at a forum last evening hosted by Onward Yankton and Mount Marty College.
When asked about what steps municipal government should take next in response to the COVID 19 pandemic, Bruce Viau says providing guidance to businesses that are re-opening would be helpful to them.
Ben Brunick says the city commission needs to remain flexible and willing to collaborate.
Tony Maibaum says municipal government should provide support to small businesses who have not received aid from federal agencies.
Timothy Sean Wamble says residents should be directly supporting local businesses whenever possible.
Stephanie Moser says while initial tax numbers have been positive, the community needs to find a way to sustain that momentum.
Voters go to the polls June 2nd to select three candidates to serve three year terms on the Yankton City Commission.
