KYNT Local Sports for 5-21-20

Non-league games in amateur baseball continue to be played across South Dakota and the South Central League.  Tonight the Yankton Lakers play at Tabor, Freeman hosts Irene and Lesterville travels to Menno.

The University of South Dakota has recruited the son of a school record holder in the sprints.  Lionel McPhaull, Junior has signed with the Coyotes after a standout career as a sprinter at Omaha North High School.  His father still holds the U-S-D record in the 400-meter dash with a time of 46.06 set 23 years ago.

Rosters for the cancelled Northeast Nebraska All-Star Volleyball Game have been announced, including two players from Hartington Cedar Catholic.  Seniors Aiden Wortmann and Abby Hochstein were selected for the All-Star Volleyball Game that would have been played June 13th on the Northeast Community College campus in Norfolk.  They helped lead Cedar Catholic to 19 wins and a fourth place finish at the Class D-1 state tournament last fall.
