As a part of the response to the COVID 19 pandemic, local officials are generally satisfied with how the change to on-line platforms for conducting meetings of the Yankton City Commission such as Go To Meeting has been accomplished.
Yankton Mayor Nathan Johnson says for some citizens, the change to on-line meetings has made it easier for them to participate.
Johnson says conducting city commission meetings online has allowed for citizens to remain engaged in the public process.
Johnson says beginning early next month, the city commission chambers are required to be open for members of the public who wish to comment on meetings.
Johnson says he expects that city commission meetings will continue to be conducted on-line for the foreseeable future.
