KYNT Local Sports for 4-30

Mount Marty College has signed the Yankton Bucks all-time leading receiver for their new football program.  Rex Ryken will attend school and join the gridiron for Coach Mike Woodley and the Lancer football team, which will begin competition in the G-PAC in the fall of 2021.  Ryken graduated last year with career records of 116 receptions and 1,832 receiving yards in his all-state career with the Bucks.  He plans to major in Business Administration at Mount Marty.

 

South Dakota State has announced the transfer of guard Charlie Easley from the University of Nebraska for their men’s basketball program.  The 6’2” freshman guard played in 28 games for the Huskers and started the last three contests.  Easley helped Lincoln Pius X win the Nebraska Class B state title in 2019 as he averaged 23 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals per game last year.  He was voted first team All-State as both a junior and senior.

 

The South Dakota Golf Association has pushed back two events from their early season schedule because of the Covid-19 pandemic.  The Junior Tour event at The Bluffs in Vermillion has been moved back from May 27th and will now be held on Wednesday, June 10th.  The South Dakota Two-Man Championship has been moved back from mid-June, and will now be held August 29th and 30th at Baker Crossing Golf Club in Sioux Falls.
